The AIIA is pleased to announce that it has been ranked seventh in a ranking of the top thirty think tanks in Asia.
These results were recently published in the 2011 Global Go To Think Tank Index Rankings. The AIIA made the rankings for the first time in 2011, at number nineteen, for the work it did in 2010. We are delighted with the jump in position this year.
This annual survey is conducted by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States and is the most comprehensive ranking of the world's top think tanks. The results are based on a global peer and expert survey of approximately 1500 scholars, policymakers, journalists and regional and area experts. some of the key criteria for selection are: media profile and reputation, access to and reputation among policymakers, quality of research output and success in generating innovative policy ideas and programmes. The impact of the work of the think tank as indicated by its recommendations having been considered or adopted by policymakers and civil society organisations is rated of key importance.
