With his extensive experience, there is no one better placed than Mr Smith to speak about the current global economic climate and the opportunities and risks that lie ahead.
Mr Smith joined the ANZ Group as CEO in 2007 after a distinguished 30 year career with the HSBC Group, during which he held a wide variety of senior positions in Hong Kong, the UK, Australia, the Middle East and South America. He is a member of the Business Council of Australia, the Australian Bankers Association Council and the Asia Business Council; an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2000; and a Chevalier de l’Ordre du Merite Agricole in 2007.
ANZ is a major financial services group in Australia and New Zealand, with a significant and growing presence in the Asia-Pacific region, including China, Vietnam and Indonesia.
