The Gaza Flotilla Clash

The Israeli boarding of the Mavi Marmara sparked an international outcry. The clash had profound implications for the peace process, U.S. foreign policy, Israeli national security, and Turkey’s international standing. Moreover, the incident certainly reflected 21st century politics, with a range of organizations beyond just nation-states playing important roles in the crisis. In this talk, Jeremy Pressman will consider what led to the boarding, what Israel might have done differently, and what pathways are open toward the future.
