Legislation for Australia's clean energy future is expected to be introduced into Parliament in the week commencing 12 September. Bond University Adjunct Professor Damien Lockie will present members of the AIIA and guests with a comparative analysis of Australia's proposed emissions trading scheme, the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme and the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme. The talk will address key similarities and identify key differences between the emissions trading schemes.
Damien is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Bond University, teaching Climate Change and Emissions Trading Law. Dual qualified in law and accounting, he has more than 25 years experience as a solicitor, accountant and advocate specialising in property and environmental laws and Federal and State revenue laws. Damien has been involved in consultation on the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme and the Clean Energy Bill 2011. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow (Life) of the Tax Institute
