Join us for this unique opportunity to tour the studios of Radio Australia and to gain an insight into its operations, including how it puts together programs and presents the news.  The visit will be hosted by the Chief Executive of Radio Australia, Dr Mike McCluskey, who will explain the services’ operations and answer questions.

Radio Australia is the international radio and on-line service of the ABC.  It broadcasts in 8 languages and focuses uniquely on audiences in Asia and the Pacific.  It plays a key role in projecting Australia to its neighbours, by providing its audience with independent and engaging radio and on-line content.  This includes English language lessons, information about Australia and objective regional news and current affairs.

Radio Australia is part of ABC International, which also includes the Australian Network TV, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade under its public diplomacy program, and ABC International Projects, which is a program aimed at building human capacity.

Those wishing to participate in the tour of Radio Australia should register their interest with the AIIAV.  Numbers are limited so early registration is recommended.

Meet in the foyer of the ABC Southbank, corner of  Southbank Boulevard and Sturt Street at 5.30 pm.

Parking is available behind the ABC, or nearby at the Arts Centre and the Ballet Centre.
