In a world often described by crisis and conflict, which countries are the most peaceful? How do we measure peace? What can we learn about the structures of peaceful environments?
The Global Peace Index is the first-ever analysis to methodically rank countries on their peacefulness and identify potential determinants of peace. Its aim is to understand the factors that create and sustain peace. Comprised of a range of indicators measuring the absence or presence of violence in society, the Global Peace Index takes into consideration both internal and external factors.
The Global Peace Index is collated for the Institute for Economics and Peace by the Economist Intelligence Unit and developed with the guidance of an international panel of peace experts.
Please RSVP by the 20 May 2011 by emailing info@economicsandpeace.org.
