The British High Commissioner, HE Mr Paul Madden, will address the Institute on the subject of the UK Australia Relationship.
Mr Madden, who took up his post in Australia in January, looks forward to building upon the UK’s longstanding relationship with Australia.
Australia and the UK have traditional close links across a wide range of areas including defence, security, economics, trade and investment and in international groupings such as the UN, the G20 Trade Group and the Commonwealth. These government to government links are also reinforced through historical, cultural and sporting ties.
In January 2011, the UK Foreign and Defence Secretaries visited Australia to explore ways to enhance our traditional bilateral links and shared international interests. The new UK High Commissioner, H.E. Mr Paul Madden, will explore these issues in his address on the UK-Australia relationship in 2011.
