Associate Professor Nathalie Nguyen, Principal Fellow at the Australian Centre, University of Melbourne, will speak on the subject on the moral dilemma presented by the Vietnamese refugee crisis. The Vietnamese diaspora was produced by one of the largest mass migrations of the 20th Century and accounts for as much as one per cent of Australia’s population. Dr Nguyen is a world authority on that great human tragedy which offers lessons for present policy problems as well as insights into the development of contemporary Australia.
