Events Portfolio: Members of the Events Portfolio are expected to liaise with external organisations while representing AIIAVIC and ACCESS. The Events Portfolio coordinates a variety of events including forums, panel discussions, addresses and the annual ACCESS Debate. The Events Portfolio also run Professional Development seminars exclusively for our ACCESS members, as well as the annual AIIA International Careers Conference.
Quarterly Access (QA) Portfolio: This Portfolio comprises an Editor-in-Chief and a Sub-Committee of Academic and Journalistic Editors, Advisors and Proofreaders. QA Portfolio members are required to commit to a minimum of twelve months. The QA Portfolio coordinates the publication of a quarterly print online magazine. Those undertaking or equipped with postgraduate qualifications are encouraged to apply, although neither is a prerequisite or sufficient condition to become an Editor with the QA Portfolio. Monthly Access (MA) Portfolio: This Portfolio comprises an Editor-in-Chief and a Sub-Committee of Interviewers, Writers and Proofreaders. MA Portfolio members require prior writing experience. The MA Portfolio coordinates the publication of a monthly online magazine. Those either undertaking or with postgraduate qualifications are encouraged to apply, although neither is essential or a sufficient condition to becoming an MA Interviewer, Writer or Proofreader. Budding journalists and academics are also encouraged to submit interviews, opinion pieces, feature articles, academic and travel articles to this publication. Social Media and Marketing Portfolio: This Portfolio consists of a single Coordinator who is required to effectively liaises with external interest groups, works as an in-house promotional reporter for the AIIAVIC and ACCESS, while leveraging the power of social media tools to communicate regularly with ACCESS members and attain new members. This Portfolio is also expected to creatively design flyers, brochures, magazines and posters for ACCESS events, and the QA and MA publications. It is also tasked with regularly administering and developing the ACCESS website and other platforms to ensure that they are kept up-to-date.
Human Resources Portfolio: This Portfolio consists of a single Coordinator who is required to implement effective large-scale recruitment campaigns within Victoria while also developing strategies to retain volunteers. This Coordinator also identifies new and potential recruitment markets.
Mentorship Portfolio: This Portfolio consists of a single Coordinator who is required to organise mentors for each individual ACCESS Portfolio Member. This Coordinator sources interested mentors with experience in the International Relations sector to provide ACCESS Portfolio members with one-on-one mentoring for professional and personal development.
Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is ACCESS' decision-making body. Executive Committee members coordinate a particular Portfolio in ACCESS, thus, the Executive Committee is responsible for managing, shaping and coordinating ACCESS. The Executive Committee is led by ACCESS' Chairperson and assisted by an Executive Secretary. Executive Committee members/Portfolio Coordinators are appointed on the basis of prior involvement with ACCESS and the AIIA, skills and experience. ACCESS Portfolio Sub-Committee members may apply to be part of ACCESS' Executive Committee.
AIIA Volunteers (Dyason House): ACCESS Portfolio members may volunteer at AIIAVIC and ACCESS events. These events range from presentations, high-profile speakers, gala dinners, conferences and forums. Those that volunteer at events are eligible to attend those events free of charge. Attending events at Dyason House is an excellent opportunity for networking with speakers, AIIAVIC members and ACCESS members. To be added to the roster of volunteers please email
