Michael John Randal MacKellar (born 27 October 1938) was an Australian politician and Liberal Member for Warringah from 1969 until 1994. During his time in Federal Politics, Mr MacKellar was appointed to the front bench in 1975 as Minister of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs, a position he held until 1979, when he became Minister for Health and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister. In opposition, Mr MacKellar acted as Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shadow Minister for Science and Special Minster of State. Whilst in Opposition, amongst belonging to many other Committees, he was Deputy Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence. Mr MacKellar resigned from Parliament on 18 February 1994. Since then, he has been CEO of the Plastics and Chemical Industries Association and COO of the Baker Medical Research Institute. He is currently chairman of the National Ageing Research Institute.
